I have to admit, I was not sold on the idea since I’ve heard a lot about how bitchy and rude the French can be, but in all honesty, everyone we encountered was very friendly and helpful. And I LOVED IT! I mean I LOVED everything about Paris; the weather, the architecture, the lights at night, the amazing galleries, the shopping, the men, the food, OMG did I mention THE FOOD!? The sights and sounds are unlike any other city in the world.
In a nut shell, I don’t think the average MaverickMen.com viewer is only here for the porn. Having lived in France for a number of years here are some tips for your next trip: Learn rudimentary French. Especially please, thank you, you’re welcome. If the menu posted is in English beat a hasty retreat. Ask the concierge at the front desk for recommendations. Especially where they like to eat. Best and cheapest form of entertainment is at an outdoor café preferably on the Rive Gauche, Left Bank, Blvd. St. Michel, or the Champs Elysees. Don’t miss the Rose Windows at Notre Dame on a sunny day and the organ recital there every Sunday afternoon. Directly behind ND is the museum dedicated to the Holocaust. Very informative and sobering. Get lost in the neighborhood of Montmarte and don’t miss Sacre Coeur. Go to a charcuterie (deli), get jambon de Paris (lean ham), cheese, a crusty baguette, fruit, a bottle of wine have a picnic on the Ile de la Cite (where Notre Dame is) on the banks of the river Seine. Take a side trip to Versailles and even better arrange a bicycle trip from Orleans to Tours along the banks of the Loire river. When in Rome do like the Romans do. With all due respect, don’t wear t-shirts and shorts. Dress nicely at all times. Show respect and politeness at all times and you will be treated like royalty.
