Hunter and I were recently in Utah visiting his family and as you can imagine; they roll up the side walks there very early (and there is zero separation between Church and State). So ya, this trip was not as fun as we would have liked especially since Hunter’s family is pretty strict with their values: No alcohol, No caffeine, and No cussing (and that means no chocolate, no coffee, and no cocktails). I was ready to jump out of my skin after two days, lol.
After a (very) long heterosexual week of Mormon values and family get-togethers, we were ready for some fun. It was pretty tough to find any fun spots in this very conservative state and after lots of online searching we heard about this fun gay club called, JAM. And, they were having a White Trash party! It sounded like fun and it turned out to be the only TRUE gay bar in Utah, meaning all the other bars that are gay are only gay bars part time; this one is gay 24/7. So we got to JAM at 12:45 and ordered a beer and 15 minutes later these huge gates were automatically lowered from the ceiling behind the bar like huge prison doors SLAMMING into place, cutting off any chance at a last-minute shot for me. We didn’t know that LAST CALL in Salt Lake City bars is at 1:am on the dot! This is the Mormon Church-State, after all. Needless to say I was bummed out big-time. I really NEEDED to have a few beers (and Hunter was driving) so I was pretty disappointed. I wanted to take off but Hunter made me stay and check out the festive fun crowd, and boy am I glad we did! We met some promoters from TheGayHotSpot.com (a promo group) named, Fernando and Daniel (both very cute, very fun guys). They were the perfect bar buddies and they showed us around and introduced us to some fans and fun guys. It turned out that half the bar and some of the staff were MaverickMen fans! The place was filed with lots of country hotties and fun fun people all dressed up like pure white trash. We had a blast! We met the co-owners, Todd Crofts and Brian Morris, and a bunch of their co-workers. Let me say this, we never laughed so hard as we did that night and we were totally sober. What a great bunch of fun guys! If you are ever in the SLC area, you should def go and check it out. JAM is a hot, happening place with lots of sexy guys (a good mix of 21 to 40+) with a surprisingly hot vibe. These guys poured their heart and soul into this club and it took almost 18 MONTHS just to get a liquor license! Club JAM is fighting the good fight for equality, and with the Republican Mormon machine on their backs I’m sure it wasn’t easy to stay open. But despite the odds, they’ve survived and JAM is thriving! So go show them some love, support a gay-owned and operated business, and check out all the hotties. Club JAM in SLC, where the owners and staff are truly Mavericks. Tell them Cole and Hunter say, hi!

Hey guys we are having a BLAST in LA! There are so many hotties walking around this city and everyone is so so nice. Hunter and I have literally been snow-bound here in Boston for the past few weeks. There has been so much snow that it’s next to impossible to even go outside. We miss the warm weather so much, we love love love New England but in the winter she can be a cold mean bitch, lol. Hunter’s starting to show signs of cabin fever. Where should we go for a vacation to escape the cold for a week. Any suggestions?
